Naidoc Week is here, and our children spent the last week getting ready for it! NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Following our aboriginal culture show on Monday, the preschoolers learned a song about boomerang. The children were doing some painting using the sprayed painting technique from Australian aboriginal people. They are fascinated by the fact that a boomerang comes back to you when you throw it!
We then read a story and talked about different types of aboriginal art, including dot art and line art. The children then decorated their own boomerangs!
