Scones are quick breads, traditionally made with wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, butter, milk and eggs, and baked in the oven. Traditional English scones may include raisins. Scones are best enjoyed with butter,  jam or honey.

Our lovely Miss Jenny share with us her delicious lemonade scones recipe for children!

Ingredients:

-1 cup lemonade

-1 cup thickened cream

-3 cups self raising flour

Method:

-Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius

-Mix all ingredients gently together in a large bowl until a soft dough forms

-Roll out the dough onto a floured board and use a scone cutter to cut rounds out of the dough

-Place the rounds onto a floured baking tray, about 1cm apart

-Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned

-Serve warm or cold with jam and whipped cream
